Regular season ends with loss

OSHAWA – The Peterborough Timbermen closed out their inaugural Arena Lacrosse League regular season  with a 14-8 loss to the Oshawa Outlaws at the Tribute Communities Centre.
The Timbermen, who finish in sixth place with a 3-11 record, now gear up for their quarter-final playoff game next weekend, against the yet-to-be-determined third place finisher.
 
Matt Crough led the Timbermen with two goals and five assists. Dan Michel, Cam Garlin and Cody McMahon also had two goals each. Ryan Masters took the loss in goal.
 
The Timbermen and Outlaws were tied 3-3 after the first quarter but the Outlaws surged ahead in the second with a six goal run. 
 
Brodie Tutton, a Timbermen draft pick, saw his first action of the season on defense. Tutton spent the first part of the season on the Toronto Rock’s practice roster.
 
Mike Triolo had eight goals and an assist for the Outlaws. Josh Gilray had three goals and two assists while Ryan McMichael scored twice and added five helpers. Lukas Coote picked up the win in goal. 
 
Playoff information will be released as soon as it is known.
