A thank you from the Timbermen

Dear fans,

As our first season has drawn to a close, we’d like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed in bringing the Peterborough Timbermen lacrosse club to the life.

Most importantly, our sponsors:

  • Dealerplan.ca
  • Southside Pizzeria
  • Trans Canada Nissan
  • Sticks Sports Pub
  • Century 21
  • Fitzsimmons Towing & Repair
  • Mathews and Associates Insurance
  • Kawartha Construction
  • Hobie’s Sports
  • Canadian Tire Gas Bar
  • Molson Breweries
  • Ricart Trophies
  • Greg’s No Frills

Without the contributions of our sponsors, our efforts would be impossible. You have allowed us to create a developmental program where our many local young aspiring athletes can enhance their skill set in the great game of lacrosse.

Our vision in bringing the Timbermen to Peterborough was three-fold.

Part one was to create a home for local players to recieve coaching with a constant focus on individual player development.

Part two was to bring lacrosse to Peterborough in the winter to showcase our local players to their families, friends and NLL scouts. This was something new for this city.

Part three was to enable young lacrosse players to participate in free skills clinics. The Timbermen hosted eight clinics for young boys and girls, and as we grow so will those clinics. The Timbermen played host to and partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough providing free admission to our games in hopes of showing the positive impact lacrosse can have on childhood development.

The Timbermen program will grow in 2018  with the addition of home games being played at the Memorial Centre and local players now much more aware of what is to expected.

As we add sponsors, we look to be able to make this a FREE venture for our players and remove any barriers that prevent our young men from developing and advancing their skills. Your Timbermen players went out-of-pocket for everything in 2017: registration, equipment, uniforms, medical supplies and even fuel for transportation. I applaud their dedication and commitment to Canada’s fastest game on two feet. The Timbermen look to continue to entertain our Peterborough fans and develop our young players.

See you next season!
