Timbermen lose to Toronto on the road

The Peterborough Timbermen fell to 0-3 in the Arena Lacrosse League standings after a disappointing 15-6 loss to the Toronto Monarchs at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville on Saturday evening.

It was a successful first quarter for the visitors, who only trailed by a single goal at 2-1 and put in a stellar defensive effort. However, Toronto turned on the jets in the second, outscoring Peterborough 7-0.

Riley Curtis led the Timbermen with a hat trick, including back-to-back power play goals in the third quarter, as the Timbermen once again showed renewed energy in the second half.

Parker Pipher led the Monarchs with four goals and three assists.

Tristan Jackson and Jensen Walker both played their first games of the season for Peterborough.

The Timbermen are back in the friendly confines of Millbrook Arena next Saturday, January 14 to host the Six Nations Snipers at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. To view the Timbermen’s full schedule, visit https://www.peterboroughtimbermen.com/schedule/.
